Celebrity Spotlight
They do say that behind every great man is a great woman, and the case is no different for Luke Bryan. The Georgia native says that is wife, Caroline, helped pick two of his Tailgates & Tanlines album’s stand-out tracks: “Too Damn Young” and “You Don’t Know Jack.” “The first time I heard them, Caroline was sitting right there and she was like, ‘Oh, wow.’ I mean, we both fell in love with them, and then, I actually recorded a song that I wrote, that she just did not like…ya know, lyrically, what it was saying. And then it didn’t make the album, just because she was right on the money. So, any time you got people that know you helping you through the process it helps the album become better.” And a good thing he listened, Luke is currently enjoying the album’s second week atop of the Billboard Country Albums chart. He will also headline CMT On Tour: Luke Bryan Tailgates and Tanlines, which kicks off September 15th in Huntington, West Virginia.

HOMETOWN HERO’S
Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Kandyce Hernadez
Hi my name is Krystle and I'm an addict. I have been addicted to drugs for 6 years and it wasn't until I went to stay with my sister and her family that I was able to come off and stay off drugs. Kandyce is my niece and she is the most amazing person I know. She is very responsible, a wonderful big sister, holds down a part-time job and goes to school and she's only 17. She graduated high school this past summer and started college as a sophomore this past fall. Kandyce inspired me and showed me how to have a wonderful, fulfilling life without the use of drugs when I never thought I could. That's what I think makes her a hero to me. I woke up every morning and got to see her go about her life without the use of drugs and feel accomplished at the end of the day and that's what makes her a hero in my eyes.

Former Cy Young award winner Mike Flanagan died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head, the Maryland medical examiner ruled Thursday.
A police investigation revealed the 59-year-old pitcher was upset about financial issues. He left no note.
Flanagan's body was found Wednesday afternoon about 250 feet behind his home. An investigation showed he was home alone when he took his life.

Ugly Guy Hot Accent…How Long Will Attraction Last?
Hey Don I recently met an Australian guy at happy hour and even though he’s not that good looking I cant get enough of his accent.
We’ve gone out 3 times and I still find his accent sexy but fear that at some point it’s going to wear off and I’m going to be sitting next to an ugly guy with a weird accent. My big question is how long do you think it will take for his sexy accent to wear off?
Signed,
Morgan
Morgan, I’m already tired of hearing about it, but that’s just me. Let me ask you this. What is the guy like on the inside? Ugly or not, we all have dispositions and personalities that sometimes over come all else. If he has a good heart, grows to care deeply only for you, and has a gentle caring disposition, well, you may have a winner. Don’t get hung up on looks, so many other things are so much more important.
Good Luck
HEALTH MOMENT
This is pretty important information to be aware of.
Antibiotic overuse doesn’t just lead to drug-resistant superbugs, it may also permanently wipe out the body’s good bacteria.
Good bacteria in the gut help people in many ways, including helping make vitamins and boosting immunity. Some researchers think that killing them off with antibiotics may be contributing to rises in chronic health conditions such as obesity, asthma, and cancer.
“We know there are impacts” from antibiotic use, “impacts we don’t even have the tools yet to study,” says Lita Proctor, PhD, who coordinates the Human Microbiome Project at the National Institutes of Health.
Because studies have already shown that antibiotic overuse is contributing to the problem of drug resistance, researchers believe it’s not rash to act in advance of more definitive science.
They say that among measures to put in place are better diagnostic tests that would help doctors more quickly pinpoint the cause of an infection.

#1.) "Forbes" magazine has released their list of the 100 most powerful women in the world based on wealth, political and business power, and reach and influence. Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel came in first . . . U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came in second . . . Michelle Obama finished eighth . . . and Lady Gaga came in 11th.
#2.) A new study has figured out approximately where PRESIDENT OBAMA will rank compared to the other presidents in U.S. history. If he loses in 2012, he'll probably wind up around 22nd . . . an average rank right around William Howard Taft and the first George Bush. But if he wins, he could be considered "near great" . . . and could rank as high as FOURTH.
#3.) The good news: Scientists in Germany have found that one of the best things to drink to recover from a workout is . . . BEER. The bad news: Only non-alcoholic beer. They're not sure why non-alcoholic beer is so good at helping the body recover, but they think it has to do with the chemical compounds. Alcoholic beer has the same compounds . . . but the negative impact of the alcohol offsets them.
