Celebrity Spotlight
Fans had a chance to see Ronnie Dunn’s video for “Bleed Red” when it debut Friday on CMT as part CMT’s Big New Music Weekend. But fans won’t be able to see Ronnie performing with a major tour this summer. Ronnie was offered an opening spot on a major tour but decided to pass and says it’s all part of a bigger plan. “You know the consensus is, you know what, let’s lay under the radar. Stay under the radar, let this record breath. Let it eat. Get a few singles under our belt and then move. So I’m happy to do that.” Ronnie’s debut solo project is scheduled for release on June 7th.
RIDDLE ME THIS
A man who could not talk went into a store to buy a toothbrush. He made a motion with his finger that looked like he was brushing his teeth, indicating that he would like to buy the toothbrush on the counter. The cashier understands and the man buys the toothbrush. Another man who is blind wants to buy sunglasses. What can he do to make the cashier understand he wants to buy the sunglasses without touching the glasses?
I never said that the second blind man couldn't talk. All he had to do was tell the cashier he wants the sunglasses.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Baxter Black
If you think poetry is stuffy, and boring, you have not read Baxter Black. As the country’s best-selling cowboy poet, Black artfully puts a cowpunchers kick into his rhyming verse. The poet, former veterinarian, songwriter, and self-described sorry team roper has written 16 books and is a syndicated columnist for magazines, newspapers, and National Public Radio. Blacks poetry, though he declines to characterize it himself, exudes a genuine love of land and animals, and a self-deprecating sense of humor that rings true with those who pull calves and plow sections.
A cowboy is the way he is because he works with stock.
Hes learned its best to ease along
To find the rhythm in their song
And not to fret if days are long
cause cows dont punch a clock.
Baxter Black is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.
HEALTH MOMENT
Small doses of aspirin can lower the risk of heart attack in people who never had heart disease, a new look at the medical evidence shows.
But the blood-thinning drug doesn't appear to cut the chances of dying from the disease, at least not enough that researchers can say for certain. And experts warn people to consult their doctor before taking the medication, which increases the risk of bleeding ulcers.
The task force advises that men age 45 to 79 take aspirin to stave off heart attacks, as long as the benefit outweighs the risk of bleeding. For women age 55 to 79, aspirin is recommended to prevent strokes, with the same caveat.
About 100,000 men and women age 45 and up took part in the studies. Some were healthy and some had diabetes, but none had chest pain or other symptoms of an ailing heart.
The researchers found a 19-percent reduction in non-fatal heart attacks among participants who took aspirin compared to those who did not.
"The number of events that you prevent depends on your baseline risk. A blanket recommendation that everybody should take an aspirin is not a good idea."
BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) On Wednesday, there was a huge 4/20 reefer party at the University of Colorado, Boulder. A 17-year-old guy went to the party and smoked himself some marijuana. Then he got into his Pontiac Grand Prix to drive home . . . and promptly crashed into a COP CAR. He's looking at charges of driving under the influence of drugs and reckless driving.
#2.) In England, a disabled grandmother was on her motorized scooter when three guys came up and tried to steal her purse. She fought back . . . and when one guy got in her face, she HEADBUTTED him in the nose. He started gushing blood and screaming and the guys ran away . . . empty-handed.
#3.) "Time" magazine has released its annual list of the most influential people. Here are some of the people they've included for 2011: Mark Zuckerberg . . . both Obamas . . . Oprah Winfrey . . . Mark Wahlberg . . . the guy who developed "Angry Birds" . . . and of course, Justin Bieber.
And I leave you with this thought…
"This outward spring and garden are a reflection of the inward garden."
