Celebrity Spotlight

RANDY MONTANA SUFFERS ROOFING JOB BEFORE MAKING IT BIG. After moving to Nashville as a teenager, country artist Randy Montana picked up a few side jobs along the way as he kicked off his music career. He says the worst gig he ever had was his summer spent crawling around on roofs. “Roofing was the worst. I think it was on a roof that I decided that, man, I… I need to get good at this song writing thing and this singing thing. Cause I can’t be doing this for the rest of my life. Uh yeah, I did that for one summer and that was enough for me.” No more roofing for Randy these days as he takes the Opry stage in Nashville tonight and will join Taylor Swift’s Speak Now World Tour on June 11th in Detroit.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Private First Class Matthew Bean
Private Bean, survived three roadside bomb attacks, according to letters he sent home to his family. He was modest, his father, Dana Bean said, and had underplayed his role in discovering one roadside bomb and saving members of his unit. Dana Bean said he did not know his son had been awarded the Bronze Star for that action until military officials told him. Bean was shot by a sniper while searching for missing soldiers on May 19, 2007, and died May 31. In a reflection by family members, his younger brother, Timothy Bean, recalled some advice he had received from his older brother when they were working for a landscaping company and faced a big job on a hot day.

"You need to just grit your teeth and do it," Timothy recalled his brother saying.
Private First Class Matthew Bean is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.

HEALTH MOMENT

We have a new sponsor for Health Moment, they are called the Obesity Disease Center.
Face it, we all could lose some pounds, least of all me. I don’t know about you but I am tired of being well fat.

Being obese means having so much body fat that your health is in danger. Having too much body fat can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, and stroke.
Because of these risks, it is important to lose weight even if you do not feel bad now. It is hard to change eating habits and exercise habits. But you can do it if you make a plan.
So here is the plan, and I am going to participate too.
The first step is to attend the FREE weight loss seminar at the Obesity Disease Center every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
We can go see the new office together on Hadley. The Obesity Disease Center is located at 255 W. Hadley #6 in Las Cruces.
I am interested in a safe, effective, and affordable weight loss, and I think it’s important that we go together and listen to this free weight loss seminar. The folks at the Obesity Disease Center will explain everything and you and I can get started on the road to weight loss. .
The seminar is at 6:00 PM Wednesday night at 255 W. Hadley #6 in Las Cruces.
Join me in the fight to loss weight.

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) Don't know if you've heard, but gas costs a lot right now. And ever since prices went up, more and more people have been letting their tanks RUN OUT instead of paying to fill them up. According to Triple-A, in the last month, they've seen an enormous 18% increase in calls from drivers who've run out of gas.

#2.) According to a new study, MEN are more generous drivers than women. Researchers found that on a busy street, there's a 42% chance a male driver will let you merge . . . versus a 37% chance a female driver will let you in.

#3.) On Wednesday night, the GIRLS GONE WILD bus rolled through Saginaw Township in Michigan. Unfortunately, they don't bring girls along with them . . . and none of the local girls seemed particularly interested in going wild. One 51-year-old man was so upset he didn't see any nudity that he SMASHED both of the rear-view mirrors on the outside of the bus. There's no word on what charges he's facing.

And I leave you with this thought…

"The more anger towards the past you carry in your heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present."
