Celebrity Spotlight
Reba is gearing up to hit the road this fall with her All The Women I Am tour and this time she’s welcoming the next generation of country stars to the show. Newcomers The Band Perry, Eden’s Edge and Steel Magnolia will open for Reba on the tour and get to see the country icon in action. But, Reba says she’s excited to learn a thing or two from her younger friends. “I listen to my nieces, my kids—‘what are y’all listening to? What really trips your trigger?’—Been out on tour with Kelly Clarkson. She’s a lot younger than I am, but man I learned from her. And I think when I went back into the next album of finding songs, my ears were opening up to sassier songs, different melodies, different chord progressions, so you’re never too old to learn!” The All The Women I Am tour kicks off September 1st in Alberta, Canada. The Band Perry just announced their first headlining show in Nashville on February 20th at the famed Ryman Auditorium.

Good morning Don my name is Sophia and I’m going into my junior year of high school in 2 weeks and I’m really nervous. Right now all my friends are shopping for clothes for the school year and seem excited about showing off their new outfits on the first day of school. I on the other hand don’t like to shop and find it stressful to fit in with clothing.
I really wish I could just wear the same thing to school everyday like kids in private schools so I didn’t have to worry every night about what I should wear the next day. I’m afraid if I told my friends about how I felt about getting school uniforms they would never talk to me again.
I feel like an outcast because I don’t like to pick out clothes for school and I’m wondering if any other girls out there feel the same way. Do you think school uniforms would make high school so much easier?
Signed,
Sophia
Well Sophia, that sounds like a real dilemma. When you consider that military school could be an option, public school doesn’t seem so bad. Keep in mind that choosing what to wear everyday is a maturing part of growing up. After all, we need to learn the appropriate way to dress for when we start work in the real world. Wear what you want and don’t worry about the other kids.
Good Luck
MAN CAVE
The Oakland Raiders always have been seduced by size and speed so it came as little surprise that they used a third-round pick Monday in the NFL's supplemental draft to select former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
The Raiders used the 18th selection of the third round for Pryor, forfeiting a pick in that round in the 2012 draft.
Tiger Woods said he hopes that U.S. captain Fred Couples picks him for this year's Presidents Cup team, according to a blog post on TigerWoods.com, and he might be willing to change his schedule to help his chances.
Woods is currently 28th on the qualifying list for the biennial matches between the United States and "the World." The tournament will be played Nov. 17-20 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. (The Ryder Cup is the U.S. vs. Europe; The Presidents Cup pits the U.S. against an International team, which can include players from any non-European country.)
HEALTH MOMENT
Here is a safety issue we all need to be aware of.
Falls from windows injure about 5,100 children on average each year in the U.S., and most could be prevented with simple window safety measures.
In the study, researchers analyzed information from a nationwide database of children treated in hospital emergency rooms over a 19-year period from 1990 to 2008.
The results showed that an estimated 98,415 children were treated for injuries caused by a fall from a window during this period, an average of 5,180 per year.
Researchers say placing bushes or plant beds underneath windows can create a cushioned landing surface and reduce the impact of falls from windows for children of all ages.
Other steps to increase window safety include reducing access to windows by moving furniture away from windows and installing window guards or locks that prevent the window from opening more than 4 inches.
Do not depend on screens to prevent children from falling out windows.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) A new study found that people who telecommute from home are more honest than people who work in the office. One in nine telecommuters have committed ethical violations in the past two years, compared to one in three on-site workers. One reason may be that telecommuters don't want to mess up and lose their privilege. There are also fewer ways to get into trouble at home.
#2.) According to a new study, the most stressful job for women is . . . being a stay-at-home mom. Women who stay home with the kids did WORSE on mental health assessments than moms who had careers outside of the home. Not that those moms were in perfect shape . . . they were just slightly less stressed and troubled than the stay-at-home moms.
#3.) Not to gross you out . . . but you've been breathing in dog poop. Researchers at the University of Colorado tested air samples in four cities to find the most dominant type of bacteria . . . and it's the kind that comes from dog feces. Fortunately, there are still just trace amounts and it PROBABLY isn't harmful. They say it's just eye-opening how little we know about what we breathe in.
And I leave you with this thought…
"I feel the capacity to care is the thing which gives life its deepest significance."
