Kirstie Alley has lost 100 pounds since going on Dancing With the Stars. The 60-year-old -- who went from a size 14 to a size 4 -- told Entertainment Tonight, "I feel like I'm back in my element. I honestly didn't even realize what I looked like." Are there any more appearance changes in her future? Kristie said, "I haven't had plastic surgery but here's the reason: People do plastic surgery to make you look younger. I don't think it makes you look younger. I like it can make you look weirder.

Celebrity Spotlight

Brantley Gilbert releases the deluxe edition of his Halfway to Heaven CD today (Tuesday, September 13th). The original version was released last year, minus three of the songs on the deluxe version. He also included some special video content, as Brantley tells us: ["Halfway to Heaven was previously released, but the one that's coming out, we added three new songs and three pieces of video content, and it had been so long since the album had been out, I actually had some events take place in my life I felt like that album left some loose ends, so we got to tie 'em up with those last three songs. And you know, the video content, we've got a show, some live video feeds from a show in Charlotte, North Carolina, and we've got the 'Kick It In The Sticks' video. We've also got the 'Country Wide' video on there as well. So it's a little extra, a little extra something nobody's seen yet."]

HOMETOWN HERO’S

Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Bryan Raye
My hero is my pastor, Bryan, for a thousand, even a million reasons. I grew a huge gain of confidence, motivation, and inspiration from Bryan when I thought I was one of those people who couldn't have any after very hard times in life. He motivates to change the world, he cares deeply for the well-being of our church family, and is exactly what I look for when it comes to inspiration, true everlasting love, trust, and caring. He never ever pushes too far, and listens with gentleness to the everyday problems in life, it's so amazing what he does, and how he does it. If it's one thing out of a thousand things I've learned from Bryan, is to go after your dreams as if you couldn't fail.

Bryan Raye is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.

MAN CAVE

No champagne. No wild celebration. The Philadelphia Phillies are back in the postseason for the fifth straight year, and that's exactly what they expected.
Roy Halladay pitched his 20th career shutout and Philadelphia became the first team to reach the playoffs this season with a 1-0 victory over the Houston Astros on Wednesday.
The NL East leaders clinched at least a wild-card berth and will take another run at a ring in October. Philadelphia won the World Series in 2008 and took the NL pennant in 2009.

E-Mail “Inbox”

Don I wanted you to tell your listeners that when you steal office supplies from the office you aren’t just stealing from your employers; You’re stealing from your coworkers.

As the Office Manager at a large office, for every dollar I save, well I like to think I'm averting layoffs.

You should not be stealing office supplies. We are in a recession.

I think every office should hang a picture of the next person who might get laid off at an office for example "Jessica the Receptionist." And if we go over our office's annual kitchen allowance, well "Jessica the Receptionist" gets laid off.

We need to put a face on the people you're stealing from.

Signed,
Penny Lutso

I think you said it well Penny, thanks.

HEALTH MOMENT

More than two-fifths of adults may not tell their doctor that they have been feeling depressed, according to a survey.
The reasons vary, but many are concerned that their doctor would prescribe an antidepressant that they don't want to take. Other reasons include the belief that it is not the job of a primary care doctor to address emotional issues and concerns about keeping medical records confidential.
Regardless of why people don't want to talk about depression, the result is the same: Depression falls under the radar.
People with no history of depression were more likely to think that depression falls outside of the scope of a primary care doctor. They were also more worried about being referred to a psychiatrist or being treated with medication, the study showed.

Reporting this kind of thing could make a difference in your overall health.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER

Fillets of Sole Saute

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup milk
4 eggs
1 cup flour
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans or cashews or a mixture of all or your preference)
1 cup butter
8 (2- to 3-ounce) fillets grey or lemon sole
1/2 cup bourbon or white wine plus a small amount of lemon juice
1 cup whipping cream
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

TO PREPARE:

Beat the milk and eggs together in a bowl. Combine the flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Grind the nuts in a food processor. Pour into a bowl. Heat the butter in a heavy ovenproof saucepan or saute pan until melted.

Dip the fillets in the flour mixture; dip in the egg mixture. Coat with the nuts. Arrange the fillets in the prepared saucepan or saute pan. Bake at 300 degrees until the nuts are golden brown and the fillets flake easily. Transfer the fillets to an ovenproof dish. Return to the oven to keep warm.

Discard any pan drippings from the saucepan or saute pan. Add the bourbon or white wine with lemon. Cook until heated. Stir in the whipping cream. Cook until the consistency of a smooth sauce, stirring constantly. Spoon the sauce onto 8 dinner plates; top with the sole. Sprinkle with the parsley.

HINT: Serve with fried sweet potatoes and a green vegetable.

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) Here's a pretty amazing story. On Monday morning, in Utah, a BMW driver crashed into a motorcyclist. The guy on the motorcycle was trapped under the car . . . and both the car and motorcycle were on FIRE. A group of strangers saw what was happening and risked their own safety to LIFT THE CAR off of him and pull him to safety. He's in critical condition now . . . but he's alive.

#2.) A new worldwide survey has found that 80% of employers say they strive to provide family-friendly business environments. Freakin' great, right? WRONG. Because even though they SAY that . . . they don't back it up. 40% say the most productive employees are the ones without a lot of personal commitments . . . and 33% say people who want flexible hours won't advance very far.

#3.) Well this is classy. In Philadelphia, an aviation school FIRED one of its employees after she took a leave of absence . . . to donate her kidney to her dying son. And she would've taken vacation days . . . but she used those up spending time with her dying mother earlier this year. The school was actually in its rights to fire her . . . but that still doesn't make it RIGHT.

And I leave you with this thought…

"Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh, and the greatness which does not bow before children."
