Riddle Me This
What is red and blue, and purple and green?
No one can reach it, not even the queen?
A Rainbow.
(Or the Jolly Green Giant holding his breath.)
You'd hold your breath too if you had to sniff green beans every day!
Celebrity Spotlight
Perhaps one of the most important parts of an artist’s career is picking the right songs. Chris Young knows this all too well, and has found his own formula for choosing which songs he releases to radio. “Kinda the process of how I’ve always picked singles is, ya know, usually everybody has a couple in mind…of what they like. It...it’s just kinda, those songs kinda filter themselves out and we kinda figure out what people from radio like, and what, ya know, the different people on my promo staff, what they’re into? It’s kinda like everybody gets a consensus of what song we’re moving to.” All that being said, when it came to his current single, “You,” it wasn’t in the running until the head of his record label stepped in.
CELEBRATING YOU
• Kimberly Williams (actress, Father Of The Bride I and II) (40)
• Dmitry Medvedev (president of Russia) (46)
• Sean Preston Federline (son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline) (6)
HOMETOWN HERO’S
Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Zachary Hernandez
My hero is my brother Zachary. He is 18 years old. He is my hero because he always stands up for me. He does not like to let me out of arm's reach. It can be annoying, but I know he just tries to protect me. I know he will always be there when I need him. I am his only sister.

Zachary Hernandez is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.
MAN CAVE
The long looks on players' faces and the anger in Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver's voice made it obvious: There was no progress Tuesday in talks to end the NBA lockout.
And with less than three weeks until training camps, the latest setback may be a tough one.
Still divided over the salary cap structure, owners and players decided to pass on talking again Wednesday, and no further meetings are scheduled at this point.
E-Mail “Inbox”
Hey Don do you have a friend or loved one that haggle for everything to the point where it’s embarrassing? Well my girlfriend does it and I can’t get her to stop!
Every time I try to buy something and she’s with me she starts to haggle even if I didn’t ask her too. She actually tried to get Macys to sell me jeans at 30% off. I thought they were going to throw us out.
I keep asking her to stop because I find it embarrassing and a little emasculating. What should I do?
Signed
Tim
Are you crazy Tim, lighten up, the girl could save you a bundle in the long run. Gez man, in this economy you should be grateful for a gal like that. Heck, send her to me, my wife and I could take her with us to shop. Maybe I can fill that whole in my wallet. Come to think of it, that might be a good business for you. Hire out your girl to go shopping for people. Let her do her thing man. Besides, you know what they say. If Mama’s happy, everybody’s happy.
Good Luck
HEALTH MOMENT
High cholesterol levels are associated with changes in the brain that are characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease, a new study shows.
For the study, which is published in the journal Neurology, researchers used blood tests to measure cholesterol in 147 Japanese adults 10 to 15 years before their deaths. Fifty of them (or 34%) had been diagnosed with dementia.
Tissue samples from their brains were then examined on autopsy.
Those who had total cholesterol levels over 224 in mid- to late life, before they had any symptoms of Alzheimer’s, were at least seven times more likely to have beta plaques in their brains by the time they died, compared to people whose cholesterol was under 173. The American Heart Association considers total cholesterol levels below 200 to be desirable.
LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol over 155 was also strongly associated with the likelihood of developing beta plaques, compared to people whose LDL was lower than 106. People with high LDL levels were at least eight times more likely to display pathologic features of Alzheimer’s disease. Ideal LDL levels are felt to fall below 100, according to the AHA.
The relationship to cholesterol values remained after researchers adjusted for other things that are thought to influence the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, like age, sex, body weight, aerobic exercise, blood pressure, a history of stroke, and blood sugar and insulin levels.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) Gender stereotypes say that women like to SPY and GOSSIP more than men. And a new survey has found . . . yep, that's absolutely true. The survey found women are TWICE as likely to break into their partner's email or Facebook. And women are MORE than twice as likely to start a fight over what they find in there.
#2.) A new study has tried to figure out the average traits of the happiest and unhappiest white collar workers in the U.S. The happiest is . . . a 39-year-old male making close to $200,000 with a young kid and a wife who works part time. And the unhappiest is . . . a 42-year-old unmarried female making under $100,000 at a job that SHOULD pay more, like doctor or lawyer.
#3.) You might want to sit down for this SHOCKING NEWS. Workers were asked to name the day of the week that they hate the most, and they chose . . . MONDAY. I know, crazy! Anyway, the average worker said they complain for a total of 34 minutes on Monday mornings, versus about 22 minutes other days of the week.
Talk about non-productive time!
And I leave you with this thought…
"If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars."
