Riddle Me This

A man goes out drinking every night, returning to his home in the wee hours of every morning. No matter how much he drinks, he never gets a hangover. This drink is very well known, but is rarely consumed, served warm and taken straight from its source. The man is a sucker for a free drink, especially since he can't live without it.
What is his favorite drink?

Blood... the man is a Vampire

Celebrity Spotlight

Eric Church is having a smash year with his current album Chief debuting at #1 and his first CMA nomination for New Artist of the Year. “Though my music has never been about winning awards, it’s always cool to be recognized, and especially in this case because the CMA is made up of my peers. And it’s always really cool when the other people that make music and other people do this for a living recognize and acknowledge what you’re doing.” Eric is currently out on the road with Toby Keith’s Locked and Loaded Tour, and will also perform alongside Zac Brown Band during Zac’s Southern Ground Music Festival on October 23rd at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina.

HOMETOWN HERO’S

Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Esther Jenson
My story is an inspiring story about a woman who has partaken in several roles, throughout her life.
She has been a mother, a leader, a grandmother, and an amazing example of how to be a 'strong' not only person, but woman. My grandmother stepped in to take care of my brother and I when I was in the fifth grade. She saved us from a life of pain and sorrow from a real-life wicked step mother. We were only 8 & 9 years old and treated like servants.
Once I revealed this to my grandmother, the process of a new beginning was on its way. She put her all into doing everything that she could to rescue us from a life of misery.
Not long after, she saved us with a piece of paper that proved 'legal guardianship'. She's not alone; my grandfather was a part of this saving grace for my brother & I.
My grandmother is my hero because she set out to help to the best of her ability. She was a Teamster for over 10 years & her whole life has been about giving to people.
She is naturally a 'giver' and she gave me the greatest childhood I could ever ask for. Thanks my sweet, amazing, wonderful grandmother (& grandfather).

MAN CAVE

Rex Ryan and the New York Jets tried to stay positive even though things appeared grim.
After all, they trailed by 14 points and were unable to do much for three quarters against the Dallas Cowboys . As it turned out, the Jets were just getting started.
"This was amazing," a smiling Ryan said. "It doesn't get much better than this, especially the way we got it done."
An emotionally charged day for the Jets ended with an unlikely comeback as Nick Folk kicked a 50-yard field goal with 27 seconds left, giving them a 27-24 victory in the final game of the NFL's first full Sunday with the commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks as a backdrop.

E-Mail “Inbox”

I have been trying to figure out why my boss hates me. Apparently he mentioned to one of my coworkers that I remind him of his second wife when she was younger. (He is currently divorcing his third.)

His second wife is the one that broke his heart and stole his house. How do I convince him that I’m not his ex-wife . . . I’m nothing like her. . . and plus it shouldn’t matter, I’m not trying to date him.

Signed,
Clareesa

Clareesa, that’s a tough one. You might try the direct approach. Ask for a meeting, let him know how much you respect and admire him as a boss and want to make sure there is nothing between the two of you that would hinder your working relationship. Then again, if you don’t respect and admire him, I would look for another job.
Good Luck

HEALTH MOMENT

Here’s an alert you should know about.
Bath salts -- dangerous drugs sold with a wink to people seeking a "legal high" -- will soon be illegal to possess or sell in the U.S.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has invoked its emergency authority "necessary to protect the public from the imminent hazard posed by these dangerous chemicals."
The action will take effect 30 days from today. It will remain in effect for 12 months, with a possible six-month extension. This gives the Department of Health and Human Services time to lay the groundwork for a permanent law banning the drugs.
Specifically, the DEA action targets three of the drugs commonly sold as "bath salts," "plant food/fertilizer," or even as "toy cleaner." The drugs are among a large number of new designer drugs popping up in retail stores, head shops, and on the World Wide Web.
None of these drugs has been tested in humans. Unlike drugs approved for human consumption, none is made under an open and controlled manufacturing process. Users often do not know which drug they actually are taking -- making it impossible to control dosage, which differs drastically from drug to drug.
Poison control centers are receiving increasing numbers of calls reporting adverse reactions, the DEA says.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER

Boned Leg of Lamb in a Mustard Crust

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup Dijon mustard
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 garlic clove, pressed
1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 six-pound leg of lamb, boned, rolled, and tied
About 1 cup of water

TO PREPARE:

In a small bowl, combine mustard, soy sauce, garlic, thyme, ginger, olive oil, and flour; beat with a whisk. Place lamb on the rack of a shallow roasting pan. Spread mustard mixture over lamb and set aside several hours before baking. Add about one cup water to the pan. Roast in a preheated 325 degree oven about two hours or until a meat thermometer registers 145 degrees for medium lamb. Maintain water level in pan. Remove lamb from oven and set aside 15 minutes before carving.

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) Which would you rather live WITHOUT: Facebook or a flushing toilet? Somehow, more people picked . . . the toilet. In a survey, a flushing toilet only ranked NINTH on a list where people ranked the vital things in their lives. Sunshine was first, then Internet access, clean drinking water, a refrigerator, Facebook, health care, a stove, email, THEN a toilet, and finally a cell phone.

#2.) Here's an interesting side effect of the economy being in the toilet. It's driving your baby to the toilet, too. A new study found that children are being potty trained younger and younger . . . because parents don't want to spend so much on diapers. Diaper sales are down 9% this year. The average child plows through $1,500-a-year in diapers . . . an average of 6.3 diapers per day.

#3.) When kids go back to school, it can cause depression and anxiety . . . in pets. Dogs and cats are used to having kids home all day, and the empty house stresses them out. Experts at the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine say that at least one in six dogs suffer from empty nest syndrome. It's tougher to measure in cats, their kind of standoffish!

And I leave you with this thought…

"That the birds of worry and care fly over your head, this you cannot change, but that they build nests in your hair, this you can prevent."
