Brumfield was convicted in May and faces up to 30 years in prison for the crime.

Celebrity Spotlight
Miranda Lambert is known for her “you don’t want to mess with me” vibe, thanks to tunes likes “Gunpowder and Lead,” “Kerosene” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” So, one of the highlights for her of stepping out and recording an album with her friends Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe as the Pistol Annies, is being able to reinvent herself. “I get to just kind of be a girl. I don’t have to really be ‘the boss’ and kind of be that ‘Miranda Lambert’ character. I get to play a character in a girl band when I’m with Pistols. So, I definitely think that it comes natural.” Miranda will appear on NBC’s Dateline tonight with both her Pistol Annies cohorts and her husband, Blake Shelton. The special airs at 10PM Eastern.

HOMETOWN HERO’S
Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Kim Norton
Kim Norton is my husband. I met him at a cancer benefit dance in November of 1996, for my terminally ill sister, Sheri Cole, who had colon cancer. Sheri was only 27 years old when she was diagnosed with colon cancer and she and I were always extremely close. At the time of the benefit dance, I was a single mother of two young children. Kim volunteered to assist the DJ set up the music equipment just because they were friends and Kim thought since it was for a benefit dance, he would help out. I met Kim the night of the dance and we immediately connected. When I looked into his eyes, I knew I had found a true friend. He was simply the kindest man I had ever met.
Kim and I were married on July 11, 1997 and my beautiful sister Sheri passed away one week later.
After Sheri's death, I became extremely depressed and for a time, considered suicide, to alleviate the pain I felt. Kim saved my life. He reminded me many times that I had two young children that needed me and I had to be strong for them. Kim made me feel like I could mourn my loss; he held me when I needed to cry and he listened when I needed to vent. He has always been an absolutely terrific dad to our children and he continues to be my best friend and the love of my life. I could not imagine my life without him.

MAN CAVE
Former Predator Wade Belak, an enforcer who had played with five NHL teams before retiring in March, was found dead Wednesday in Toronto. He was 35.
Belak is the third NHL enforcer found dead since May.
Toronto police spokesman Tony Vella said officers found a man dead when called at 1:40 p.m. EDT Wednesday at a hotel and condo complex. Vella said "foul play is not suspected in the ongoing investigation" into Belak's death.
E-Mail “Inbox”
Hey Don,
My boyfriend kissed a chick when he was drunk at a college party.
He told me two days later, wildly apologetic and convinced he'd screwed things up permanently. We are two hours away from each other, going to different schools. I love him. What should I do?
Signed,
Michelle
Well Michelle, if you love him and forgive him then I think you’ve answered your own question. I hope he will work very hard not to let that happen again, only time will tell.
Good Luck
HEALTH MOMENT
Once again, mom was right: Don't eat too close to bedtime. A new study suggests that waiting at least an hour after dinner before going to sleep reduces your risk of stroke by about two-thirds.
And for every 20 minutes more that you wait, stroke risk drops another 10%, say researchers in Greece.
The study does not prove cause and effect -- only that there seems to be an association between waiting an hour or more between dinner and bedtime and reduced stroke risk.
Although the study didn't delve into why waiting longer after eating to go to sleep might lower stroke risk, previous research suggests that eating too close to bedtime is associated with an increased risk of reflux disease. That in turn is associated with sleep apnea, a risk factor for stroke.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) ."The Economist" just released their annual list of the most livable cities in the world, based on stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. Melbourne, Australia came in first . . . Vienna, Austria is second . . . and Vancouver, Canada is third. The highest-ranked U.S. city is Honolulu, at 26th.
#2.) This is an incredible statistic. In 2010, one out of every 10 bosses who died on the job died from HOMICIDE. Overall, 533 people in management died in work-related incidents . . . and yes, 10% were MURDERS.
#3.) It's a MIRACLE this guy survived. In Arizona, earlier this month, an 86-year-old was doing yard work when he tripped and fell face-first onto some gardening shears. One of the handles went into his eye socket and all the way through his face, down his THROAT. Somehow, doctors removed them and rebuilt his eye so he wouldn't lose his vision. But I’ll bet the X-ray is gnarly
And I leave you with this thought…
"The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties. Great necessities call out great virtues."
