Celebrity Spotlight
The Dirt Drifters is a band compiled of five men with varying musical backgrounds, but they seem to all agree on thing: Bruce Springsteen is the inspiration for their current single, “Always a Reason.” Band member Jeff Middleton explains. “That song was definitely one where it was like ‘This is Springsteen.’ That’s the one that people always say ‘Man, that’s so much like Springsteen/Mellencamp kind of world. I think a lot of times because we bring to the table such different backgrounds, sometimes you just kinda see where the song goes and that’s what a lot of the process—it’s fun.” The Dirt Drifters make their next tour stop Friday in San Jose, California.

HOMETOWN HERO’S
Simply put, Hometown Hero’s are people who help others in some way.
Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Ana Darling.
My mom is my hero. My mom has been a single mom for me and my little sister. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and she made it through. She fought cancer and she is in recovery! My mom has been very strong because she would pretend everything was ok so my sister and I wouldn't worry even when she was at her worst. She went through chemotherapy and radiation therapy all alone she lost all her hair and her strength, but she is still standing! Now she is a breast cancer survivor! My mom has taught me that "It's not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain".

Good morning Don, I’m a big fan of your show and thought you could give me some advice.
I’m very concerned about my wife Tina who’s 5 months pregnant and not eating enough because she doesn’t want to gain too much weight while she’s pregnant. She never had issues like this when she wasn’t pregnant but did like to work out.
I don’t know what to do, should I get her a therapist or talk to her doctor in private? Any suggestions?
Signed,
Chris
One word Chris, RUN!!! This is a very delicate subject, talk to the Doctor if you like, but tread very carefully. This topic could be more dangerous to your health.
Good Luck, thanks for listening.
HEALTH MOMENT
If you have Gout, you know how painful and debilitating it can be. If you don’t have Gout, look out, Gout is on the rise in the U.S. Gout has become more common in the United States in the past two decades, in part because of the nation’s obesity crisis and a greater frequency of high blood pressure, new research indicates.
Researchers say in the study that the prevalence of gout in the U.S. has more than doubled since the 1960s. They say risk factors for gout that can be changed should be identified and steps taken to prevent gout. Modifiable risk factors include obesity, high blood pressure, and alcohol intake. Also, the researchers recommend daily exercise and limiting intake of red meat and sugary beverages.
Like I said, if you don’t have Gout I can promise you, you don’t want it. If you take steps now to prevent it, you’ll be much better off.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) In 1800, the world's population hit one billion. It took the entire history of mankind to get there. And now, we've equaled that . . . in ONE DECADE. The population will hit SEVEN BILLION this year, up from six billion in 2001. Based on current rates and trends, the U.N. projects that the seven billionth person will be born October 31st in India.
#2.) According to a new study, you glance at your smartphone 34 times a day for no reason. It didn't vibrate or ring. You just look at it without realizing it. A neuroscientist says we do this because our brains like the feeling of getting an email or text. So now that it's used to those rewards, the part of the brain that controls your habits has taken over.
#3.) This is a serious upset. In a new survey asking people which superpower they most want, Wolverine's instant healing ability came in at number one. It beat Professor X's telepathy, Superman's power of flight, The Hulk's super strength, and Sue Storm of Fantastic Four's invisibility. Spider-Man finished horribly . . . only 3% of people chose his web slinging. THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!
And I leave you with this thought…
When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.
