Celebrity Spotlight
Miranda Lambert says that the success of her last couple of albums have allowed her to take a breath and relax a bit when it comes to her next project. She tells us: "I feel a lot less like I have something to prove because with success you can sort of go, 'Okay, I can get that chip off my shoulder a little bit now. People like it! Don't have to shove it down their throats,' but also on the other hand of that I still have to prove myself different every record to stay in the game and to really be an artist with a long career, and that's my goal. I wanna be her for years and years, and to do that I have to keep reinventing myself musically."

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Cedric Sebastien
Cedric is my boyfriend and my hero. We share a lot of things together but I think I learned most of my favorite values from him. He believed in me when everyone else didn't, even me. He's not perfect but he's my ideal of perfection, he's my best friend, he gave me hope when I needed it the most, always pushes me up, helps me to choose the right path and helps me to find myself when I doubt life and hapiness. Surely we argue, but we know we care and love each other. He used to be there for me and I believe he will always be there.

Guys you’ll never guess what I caught my boyfriend doing the other day on the train while we were going into the city to see a show. He brought a Playboy magazine with the cover of a Men’s Fitness magazine so no one would realize what he was reading.
I was reading my book and only noticed it when he put it down to use the bathroom. When I confronted him he was laughing and told me the articles in Playboy were really good but people get uncomfortable when you read it in public.
I thought it was creepier that he was hiding it. Should I be more upset then I am or just let it go?
Signed,
Kristen
Kristen, I’m not really one to ask. I do not read those kinds of magazines, looking is not good enough for me. But, if it were me I would question why a guy would need that when he has you setting right next to him. But, that’s just me. Good luck.
HEALTH MOMENT
Two new studies add to growing evidence that physical activity helps to keep older people's brains sharp.
Neither study shows cause and effect, only that there is an association between exercise and cognitive health.
But in both studies, participants who exercised the most were substantially less likely to suffer memory loss and other signs of cognitive decline, compared to their more sedentary counterparts.
"Most importantly, the association [between slower cognitive decline] and physical activity was not limited to people engaged in vigorous exercise," says researcher Marie-Noël Vercambre, PhD, of the Foundation of Public Health in Paris.
Marie says, even taking a brisk, 30-minute walk every day was associated with a lower risk of cognitive impairment.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) Nine states ban handheld cell phones for drivers and 34 ban texting behind the wheel. And in a new survey, half of drivers say they've cut back on phone use, and three out of four teens have cut it out entirely . . . but most of us are still looking for loopholes. We use our phones at red lights, in slow traffic, or when we're alone on an open road.
#2.) According to a new study, three-quarters of women are so self-conscious that they avoid appearing in photographs, and half hate looking at pictures of themselves. The most common complaint is their smile. But there are four things you can do to take more flattering pictures: Enjoy yourself . . . say 'oats' or 'plum' to make your mouth look sexier (???) . . . tuck your chin down and look up through your eyelashes . . . and wear lip-gloss.
#3.) Last year, the federal government required all large restaurant chains to post calorie counts for their menu items. And a recent study found that one out of five items contain 100 calories MORE than the restaurant claimed. One chips and salsa appetizer had 1,000 calories more than listed. Most of the items with the low calorie counts were salads and soups, and eating the extra calories could lead to an 11-to- 33 pound weight gain over a year.
And I leave you with this thought…
Even a thousand-mile journey begins with the first step.
