Celebrity Spotlight
“Mr. Bartender” singer Bradley Gaskin is at the start of an exciting music career with his first single, but Bradley isn’t just working for himself, he’s working for his dad—in a manner of speaking. Bradley worked for years in his father’s drywall business, but when music came calling, Bradley saw the chance to not only pursue his own dreams as an artist, but also find a way to one day change his dad’s life for the better. And for Bradley, it’s all beginning with a song that he wrote after being on a job with his dad—“Mr. Bartender.” “It’s the first single that I’ve ever had to reach country radio. And it’s really crazy for him now, ’cause before that, he said, ‘Boy, I’m gonna give you this drywall job and let you have it,’ and I said, ‘Dad, no offense, but I don’t want it because I’ve seen it beat you down, and I’m gonna try to retire you someday.’ And I said, ‘So I’m gonna try to make it in the music business.’” You can see the music video for “Mr. Bartender” now at CMT.com.
COUNTRY NEWS
Kenny Chesney has been named the Fittest Man in Country Music, beating out Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton in a Men's Health magazine contest. Chesney credits the win on his efforts to take care of himself when he's on the road. He says, "I grew up with a family where everything revolved around food. I love to eat. But I'm very conscious of what I put in my body now... You'd be amazed at what you can do in a short amount of time to get a burn in, to feel healthier."
* But not fit as a fiddler. I mean, have you seen Charlie Daniels recently?

HEALTH MOMENT
People who are nearsighted may be nearly twice as likely to also develop glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness, according to a new study that summarizes earlier research.
More than two million Americans over 40 have been diagnosed with the eye disease, which is becoming increasingly expensive to treat.
According to one expert, the findings mean nearsighted people -- a third of all Americans -- may want to undergo regular eye screening.
Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, causing gradual loss of vision. There are several treatments available -- including drugs and surgery -- but none of them can restore sight once it's lost.
The new study, published in the journal Ophthalmology, focused on the link between nearsightedness and "open-angle" glaucoma, the most common form of the disease.
The researchers found that, overall, nearsighted people were about 90 percent more likely to also develop open-angle glaucoma. Those with higher levels of myopia appeared to be at higher risk of glaucoma, as well.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology already recommends regular eye exams for all adults beginning around age 40. The group urges blacks to start even earlier, with exams every three to five years, because their risk of glaucoma is higher.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) Anyone can figure out which wine to pair with fine foods. It takes some REAL skill to pair wines with junk food. According to a wine expert, here are some tips for that. Pair French fries and potato chips with champagne . . . donuts and cake with sweet sparkling wine . . . Slim Jims with a red wine . . . and Spaghetti-Os and other kids' pastas with sweet white wines.
#2.) There's plenty of money in helping this country get chubby. But there's also plenty of money in getting us DRUNK. And more and more fast food chains are realizing that . . . and multitasking. To name a few: Burger King has three locations now that serve beer . . . Sonic is opening a few this summer . . . Starbucks has some in Seattle . . . and Pizza Hut is experimenting with beer delivery.
#3.) If you love soda, but get exhausted tipping your head back to sip, there's a new product for you: Turbo Tango comes in an aerosol can that sprays the drink directly in your mouth. OK, just how lazy can we get?
And I leave you with this thought…
When a defining moment comes along, you can do one of two things. Define the moment, or let the moment define you.
