Celebrity Spotlight
Just six short years ago Carrie Underwood was crowned American Idol and went from a small-town Oklahoma girl to an international country superstar. Now, Carrie is helping the next generation of Idols as they step into the spotlight. The singer dishes out words of wisdom for all who have dreams of stardom. “I have people ask me, ‘How did you do it?’ Well, I tried out for [Laughs] a reality television show. I tried a different route than a lot of people go, because I didn’t know how to do it. I didn’t have anybody giving me advice. But I say, you know—do what you do, and do what you love. And take your opportunities where they come. When those doors open, don’t be afraid to walk through them.” Carrie recently surpassed Kelly Clarkson as the most successful Idol in history, selling more than 12-million albums and 18-million digital singles, and earning more than 66-million dollars from touring since 2005.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Keith Crews
Many people call him an old soul even though he is only 26. He has the wisdom and values that so many have turned from. He knows that what's inside is much more important than the outside. He is the true "southern gentleman" that I named him. He has had to fight for his education all the way through, from early elementary up through a junior in college. He is the first to make it that far in our family and he is still fighting for it. He has always battled illness and worse yet, the stigma associated with it. This includes some of his past teachers. Thank goodness he didn't listen, but there were very tough moments. He helps his father take care of me due to my illness and not many young adults would. He has always been my biggest supporter through the 20 plus years of illness. I don't have enough room or words for my praise and thanks for my son, my hero!!!

HEALTH MOMENT
Late-stage trials showed its gout treatment is effective in reducing patients' pain and limiting the risk of new attacks, potentially paving the way for the drug to become a blockbuster. Novartis said two studies involving more than 450 patients showed the compound, also known as ACZ885, provided superior pain relief and reduced the risk of new attacks in gouty arthritis patients by up to 68 percent compared to an injectable steroid.
"We are very excited about these results, which indicate that ACZ885 may become a significant new alternative for gouty arthritis patients," said David Epstein, head of Novartis' pharmaceuticals division. The Switzerland-based company said the antibody, which works by blocking an inflammatory protein had been filed for regulatory approval in gouty arthritis patients with limited treatment options in the European Union in 2010 and in the US, Canada and Switzerland in the first quarter of 2011.
While the sales potential in this patient group indication may be limited, analysts said, a further expansion of the drug's use for other patient groups could turn the medicine into a blockbuster with more than $1 billion in sales, as Novartis would be able to tap into the $35 billion arthritis market. Gouty arthritis, commonly referred to as gout, was the most common form of inflammatory arthritis in adults, Novartis said. It added that in the UK an estimated 1.4 percent of the population suffers from gouty arthritis, while in the U.S. 3.9 percent of the population has the condition.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) People have started realizing that if you won't vote for a politician because he's cheated on his wife . . . pretty soon there won't be anyone left to vote for. In a new poll, only 57% of women and 50% of men say they'd hold cheating against a politician. The survey also found that only 31% of Americans could forgive someone for cheating on them, but 55% think cheaters CAN reform.
#2.) According to a new survey by eHarmony, here's the kind of humor you should use to make yourself more sexually attractive. For men, be dry, ironic, and sarcastic . . . and don't be too dark or foul. For women . . . make fart jokes like a guy and don't get too political. You're welcome.
#3.) A new survey has figured out what rich people do online . . . and it's just perfect. The survey found that people making over $500,000-a-year go online to check their bank accounts . . . and watch PORNO. 38% of rich people admit to going online for porno . . . that's WAY more than the 23% of us poor people who do.
And I leave you with this thought…
No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversations as a dog does.
