A new class was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday. Bobby Braddock, Reba McEntire and Jean Shepard were all inducted and honored by their peers and other members of the Hall of Fame during the Medallion Ceremony and event. Bill Anderson inducted Bobby Braddock, Dolly Parton inducted Reba and George Jones handled the honors for Jean Shepard. For Reba, the accomplishment became real for her as she walked into the building as a Hall of Fame member. “Well, you know I hadn’t been nervous at all until now. We’re walking into the doors of the Country Music Hall of Fame, a place I’ve been to visit. But, to have my bronze plaque up on the wall of all my heroes, people who I’ve learned and studied and admired through all these years. That’s just a dream come true.” Some of the artists who attended the event and honored the inductees in song include Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride and Vince Gill. The inductees will be recognized again during the 45th CMA Awards later this year. Reba updates us on the health of her father, who recently suffered a heart attack. “Daddy’s doing really well. You know, he was in a coma for over a month. And he’s awake, he was feeding himself, walking about 30 steps then he had another attack. He’s back in ICU but my older brother’s takin’ care of him, there with him. And he’s cuttin’ up with the nurses, havin’ a big time…tellin’ wild west stories. He’s doin’ great.”
RIDDLE ME THIS
I can fly like a bird, not in the sky, which can always swim and always dries. I say goodbye at night and morning, hi. I'm part of you. I follow and lead as you pass, dress yourself in black, my darkness lasts. I flee the light but without the sun, Your view of me would be gone.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Nan & Keith Walker
I want to thank my parents for teaching me, from the beginning, to accept everyone, to be open to everything, and to see hope everywhere. Very few people possess such kindness in their souls. They have their faults, vices, and mistakes, but the fact that, when it comes down to it, they see the light in everyone's heart...no matter who, what, or where they are. They are my hometown hero’s.

HEALTH MOMENT
The number of U.S. children with developmental disabilities has been climbing over the past decade, reaching nearly one in six in 2006 to 2008, a new government report shows. "The take-home message for parents would be to promote early identification and screening of children," said Sheree Boulet, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. "These children require more services." "We don't know for sure why the increase happened," said Boulet, adding that several factors may be at play.
For instance, there is a bigger emphasis on early treatment today, and parents are more likely to be aware of the conditions, so kids who might not have been diagnosed in the past are being recognized now.
Part of the increase might also be due to a change in risk factors, such as parents getting older and having more preterm babies, Boulet said. The reason is unclear, but explained that poorer nutrition, more pre-term births and less intellectual stimulation could be involved. Boulet explained that curbing risk factors like maternal obesity and smoking will help trim the chances of having a child with disabilities.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) Times have really changed since you were in high school. According to a new survey, 57% of Americans say that "GEEK" isn't an insult anymore . . . it's a compliment. People 18-to-34 are most likely to say it's a compliment, at 66%. BUT . . . only 17% of us actually identify ourselves as geeks.
#2.) Overusing hand sanitizer is like getting DRUNK? A new study found that if you use hand sanitizer several times a day, you could test positive for alcohol use in a urine test . . . even if you've never actually had a sip of beer, wine, or liquor. It probably won't affect you if you only use sanitizer a few times a day, though.
#3.) A print ad for Dove body wash is drawing controversy today . . . because it looks like they're saying their product makes you go from damaged black skin to, quote, "visibly more beautiful" white skin. Stupidity abounds.
And I leave you with this thought…
"We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have."
