Frankie Ballard has a few busy and exciting weeks ahead as his self-titled, debut album drops May 24th and he joins Taylor Swift’s Speak Now tour later in the week. Frankie says his latest single, “A Buncha Girls,” is a summertime anthem that’s all about the ladies. “There are always a bunch of them, you know. They always stick together. They’ve got girls night out and they just love to have that little girls night or ladies night or go to the movies or go to the beach and…It’s not about us, you know, it’s about them and what they do and how we love…we love them, you know. So, we wanted to make it an anthem.” Frankie is country music’s latest heartthrob and ladies; he’s single, but says he’s not sure if he has enough time to squeeze in a date right now.
RIDDLE ME THIS
I am seen at night but not at daylight. I have a long tail. My life is short but bright as a flashlight in the dark. What am I?

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Louis R.
My hero is my late husband, Lou. When we first met 8 years ago, he brought a light into my life and I was never the same again. He had my heart from the first day we met and we were married April 23, 2005. He had such a joy for living each and every day to its absolute fullest and strove to reach out to anyone in need. Even when he was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer in 2004, he did not slow down. In fact, he strove harder to make a difference and was grateful for everyday he lived...sober. You see, he found sobriety and a relationship with his higher power on August 26, 2001. He battled his disease with a smile in his heart and on his face for four years (a lot longer than the doctor's expected). Even at the end, his thoughts were for me as he quietly reached out to friends to look out for me. He knew before I did that his time on this earth was drawing to a close. Lou went home to his Father on July 1, 2008. Not a day goes by that I don't feel him, see his face and hear all the little words of wisdom and encouragement he shared wherever he went. I am forever blessed.

HEALTH MOMENT
A Sunday night custom of eating peanuts while watching soccer has led to a discovery: What you eat before you give blood may result in a severe allergic reaction in people who receive that blood.
The researchers said that, for the moment, they are not recommending any changes in blood donation practices.
Yet they also cautioned that similar cases may have occurred and gone unreported.
A peanut allergy-related reaction is extremely rare. What may be more of a worry, and what blood banks are addressing, he said, is the case of a patient who is allergic to penicillin, for example, getting a transfusion from someone who was taking the drug.
"We're really good about donor questionnaires about medication these days, or if someone's taking an antibiotic," Waxman, who was not involved in the new report, told Reuters Health.
"We ask a certain amount of health history (from donors), but in terms of what people might have eaten, we really don't ask."
BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) Don't believe the hype . . . marriage is actually getting STRONGER. According to new Census data, 75% of couples who got married in the '90s celebrated a 10-year wedding anniversary. That's up a very significant 3% from couples who got married in the '80s. The credit goes to people getting married when they're older . . . so they're more mature, financially secure, and prepared.
#2.) Here's ANOTHER new way for your pregnant friends to get gifts out of you. Apparently, something called "Gender Reveal" parties are getting popular. That's where the doctor gives a pregnant woman a sealed envelope with her baby's gender and she throws a party to open the envelope and reveal the answer.
#3.) Gotta give the government credit for a surprising sense of humor here. The CDC just released a preparedness guide for . . . a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. Sure, it's actually just their traditional disaster preparation tips packaged in a more marketable and hip format . . . but still. Our Tax Dollars at work
And I leave you with this thought…
"Stress is an untransformed opportunity for empowerment."
