Brad Paisley’s latest single; “Old Alabama” pays tribute to country’s first super group, Alabama. Brad admits he never thought he’d get to record a song with his heroes. “It’s really an amazing experience to see them back together singin’ like they are and that sound that the three of their voices have. They’re just responsible for so many of us in music now, you know, that were influenced by them. And getting to hear them on the radio right next to me is the thrill of a lifetime.” The song is included on Brad’s upcoming album This Is Country Music, scheduled for release on May 23rd.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Shelley Jo B.
Shelley Jo B. She is my wife of 18 years and the mother of our son. She is of a simple family that has shown me who I am, and what I still have to offer to everyone. She never nags, never complains...just has a true heart, that many are drawn to. Perhaps she is a part of the Truth. I am blessed to be her husband.

HEALTH MOMENT
People with diabetes are at higher risk for certain cancers than those without the blood sugar disease, suggests a new study.
Based on data from a telephone survey of nearly 400,000 adults, researchers found 16 out of every 100 diabetic men and 17 out of every 100 diabetic women said they had cancer.
That compares to just seven per 100 men and 10 per 100 women without diabetes.
According to the CDC, nine percent of U.S. adults have diabetes.
After taking into account things like age, race, smoking and drinking habits, the researchers concluded that diabetic men and women were 10 percent more likely to have had a cancer diagnosis of any kind.
Other studies have also found a link between the two diseases, although there is no proof that one causes the other.
The researchers found that the types of cancers that were more likely among diabetics differed between men and women.
Compared to people without diabetes, diabetic men were more likely to report having colon, pancreas, rectum, urinary bladder, kidney or prostate cancer (the latter only occurs in men)
Diabetic women had more cases of breast cancer, leukemia or cancer of the womb.
For men, the greatest increase in risk was for pancreatic cancer, with 16 per 10,000 cases among diabetics and just two per 10,000 among non-diabetics.
That corresponds to a four-fold difference after taking other factors into account.
Women's risk of leukemia also varied greatly between the two groups. One per 1,000 women without diabetes said they had been diagnosed with the blood cancer, compared to three per 1,000 women with diabetes.
The findings are an important reminder for people with diabetes and their doctors to meet regular cancer screening guidelines and to discuss any possible cancer risk from anti-diabetic therapy.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
#1.) A new survey asked women to pick the ages when they're too old to make certain fashion choices. Some of the highlights: The average age when they say you're too old for a bikini is 47 . . . miniskirt is 35 . . . tube top is 33 . . . stilettos is 51 . . . a belly button ring is 35 . . . see-through blouse is 40 . . . one-piece bathing suit is 61 . . . and a ponytail is 51.
#2.) Never, ever doubt INSTANT KARMA. On Thursday, in Seattle, a man snatched a jar with donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society off the counter at a store. Then he ran out into the street . . . and was immediately HIT BY A BUS. He's still hospitalized with critical injuries.
#3.) In California, a mother of two is SUING Chuck E. Cheese . . . because she says they're nothing more than an illegal gambling operation targeting kids. She says a lot of their games that kids play for tickets and prizes have nothing to do with skill . . . they're basically just slot machines that pick a random number and print tickets. She's suing for an undisclosed amount. Is nothing sacred any more!
And I leave you with this thought…
"Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one."
