Celebrity Spotlight

Hank Williams Jr. felt an urgency to do something significant for tornado victims after hearing about the rising death toll in southern states. When the outbreak of severe weather took place, Bocephus says there just wasn’t enough coverage of the disaster and too much of a focus on the royal wedding. “That really ticked me off (laughs). Who gives a damn about the royal wedding? We’ve got three hundred people, over three hundred people that have died. That made me hot. We won’t be showing the royal wedding on this special! (laughs) We’ll be showing the royalty of country music.” Hank Jr. will join Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Alabama, Ronnie Dunn and others for the CMT disaster relief concert which will be televised to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts. ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, HLN anchor Robin Meade and comedian Ron White have all signed on to co-host. The special, in conjunction with CMT One Country will air Thursday, May 12th at 9PM Eastern on CMT and streaming live at CMT.com.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Louie Garcia
My hero is my Uncle Louie. The reason why is that my Uncle is strong, smart, kind, courageous, genuine, goal-oriented and carries so many other character values. His persistence and determination keeps me going. He's a leader and not a follower. Family values is important to him and I appreciate him. As a little girl with an absent father - he was there. As a teenage dancer with no Mom or Dad to watch me on stage - He was there. Now as an adult woman with so many dreams - he's still here encouraging me whenever I need it. I love my Uncle Louie!

HEALTH MOMENT

To have success on a fat loss diet, creating a calorie deficit through your food intake, exercise program or a combination of both is essential. If you want to see fat loss, you have to give the body a reason to start using up its body-fat stores as fuel. If you don't, be prepared to struggle along, seeing only modest results at best.
One of the simplest ways to create a calorie deficit is to trim off some of the fat from your diet because, gram for gram, fat contains the most calories. If you can shave off even 25 grams of fat each day, that's the equivalent of 225 calories, which would have you seeing almost half a pound of pure body fat loss each week.
Think eliminating 25 grams of fat will be quite the challenge? Think again. The following are some of the best ways to instantly cut fat from your diet and see great fat loss results quickly by swapping out bad fats for good fats — or not fat at all.
Fat swap: Choose skim milk instead of cream
Fat swap: Choose cottage cheese instead of cream cheese
Fat swap: Choose ham on your pizza instead of pepperoni
Fat swap: Choose an egg white omelet instead of a regular egg omelet
Fat swap: Choose a grilled chicken burger instead of a hamburger
These swaps alone are almost enough to reduce your total daily fat content by the 25 gram goal.

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) No matter how much technology we have, it turns out we're still just a bunch of sentimental fools. In a new survey, 53% of Americans say that if they could only save one item from their home in a fire, it would be photos. 12% said it would be some kind of electronics. A piece of clothing came in third, jewelry was fourth, and a specific book was fifth.

#2.) It's hard enough to sell a house for a reasonable price today WITHOUT your neighbors sabotaging you. According to a study, your neighborhood can REALLY screw up your home value. Living near a power plant knocks the value down 4% to 7% . . . near a landfill you'll lose 6% to 15% . . . near a sex offender knocks off 9% . . . and near foreclosed homes knocks off 27%.

#3.) All of the details here haven't been released, but so far, this story is INSANE. In Texas, a man got into a massive fight with . . . his HOUSECAT. It got so bad that he pulled a KNIFE on the cat. In the end, the cat suffered mortal wounds and needed to be put down. The guy ALSO suffered severe injuries and had to be airlifted to a hospital, but he'll survive. Had to be the cat-nip.

And I leave you with this thought…

"The most important thing to remember is this: to be ready at any moment to give up what you are for what you might become."
