Celebrity Spotlight

Thompson Square celebrated their first #1 in Nashville earlier this week for their single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not”. Their rise to fame over the past year causes Keifer and his wife Shawna Thompson to get recognized more often in public – something they’re still getting used to. “We were in an airport here recently and this guy and his wife were starin’ at me and I was just like, ‘What are they starin’ at,’ you know? So, you automatically get into defensive mode like, ‘What are you starin’ at,’ you know? And they’re like, ‘Oh, we really like your music.’ I was like, ‘Oh, thank you very much let me sign something there for you.’ So, that…that’s been kind of a weird thing to get used to.” Keifer and Shawna will be noticed a lot more as their next single “I Got You” climbs the charts.
TIDBIT – Thompson Square has two nominations at this year’s CMT Music Awards for their “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” video.

HEALTH MOMENT

Extroverts are the cheeriest personality type, and a new study finds that the root of their happiness may be in their memories.
People who are extroverted remember the past in a more positive light than other personality types, researchers report in the June issue of the journal Personality and Individual Differences. This rose-tinged viewpoint explains much of the happiness gap between extroverts and people who are neurotic, a personality trait marked by anxiety and irritability.
"We found that highly extroverted people are happier with their lives because they tend to hold a positive, nostalgic view of the past and are less likely to have negative thoughts and regrets," study researcher Ryan Howell, a psychologist at San Francisco State University, said in a statement. "People high on the neurotic scale essentially have the exact opposite view of the past and are less happy as a result."
In fact, having a more positive and less negative view of the past explained 45 percent of the link between extroversion and greater life satisfaction. For neurotic types, a more negative and less positive view of the past explained half of the link between their personality type and happiness level.
It's tough to change your personality, but the find is good news for those who'd like to feel happier about life, Howell said. Savoring happy memories or recasting sad ones in an optimistic light could help, he said: "You may be able to alter your view of time and boost your happiness."

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) According to a new study by Match.com, believe it or not, the single parents on their site actually date MORE than the single people without kids. 21% of single parents date versus 16% of single people without kids. And 35% of single parents have been on a first date in 2011, versus 27% of single people without kids.

#2.) This just sounds dangerous. In Illinois, guards outside of a prison caught a 33-year-old woman trying to smuggle a nine-millimeter handgun inside. And she was smuggling the entire thing . . . IN HER INTIMATE AREA. Fortunately for her, the gun didn't go off in there.

#3.) We've heard stories like this before and we're always skeptical . . . but if you're less jaded, this should be fascinating. In Oregon, a woman had oral surgery and when she woke up from the anesthesia, suddenly, she was talking with an IRISH ACCENT. Doctors call this Foreign Accent Syndrome and there are less than 100 cases of it EVER on record.
I want that.

And I leave you with this thought…

"With heart, the impossible is possible."
