Celebrity Spotlight

“What Do You Want,” Jerrod Niemann’s chart-climbing hit has become his second gold single within the past eight months. The singer has learned that success doesn’t come without hard work but he wouldn’t have it any other way. “Man, you know I’ve dreamt my whole life to have this opportunity. So really, everyday really doesn’t feel like a vacation or anything but it’s like I don’t want really, care for any time off. I mean, I’m sure I’ll change, probably eat those words.” Jerrod and his buddy Lee Brice will soon wrap up The Higher Education Tour. Then Jerrod will join Brad Paisley on the road for Brad’s H2O II: Wetter & Wilder World Tour which kicks off May 28th.

RIDDLE ME THIS

George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee. Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking soda. Would Elizabeth be drinking coffee or soda?

She is drinking coffee. The letter E appears twice in her name, as it does in the names of the others that are drinking coffee.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Norma Brown
Every 10 years for more than half a century, Norma Brown has pounded the pavement helping Americans fill out census forms, rallying fellow foot soldiers and befriending others with one singular purpose. Everybody in America needs to be counted, says Norma, a great-grandmother who has been counting Americans for the U.S. Census Bureau since 1960. Norma was just 24 when she learned that the Census Bureau was hiring temporary workers to knock on doors and ring the doorbells of people who did not respond to mailed questionnaires.
Since working on her first census, Norma has been training other census-takers she sets a strong example for rookies.
Her passion for an accurate census made it easy for Norma to perform his 2010 assignment: speaking to community groups, college students and church congregations about the importance of participating in Census 2010. The vast majority of Americans, she says, are civic-minded people who want to help and want to see things done right, while those who dont return their questionnaires often just need to be asked.

Norma Brown is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.

HEALTH MOMENT

We have a new sponsor for Health Moment, they are called the Obesity Disease Center.
Face it, we all could lose some pounds, least of all me. I don’t know about you but I am tired of being well fat.

Being obese means having so much body fat that your health is in danger. Having too much body fat can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, and stroke.
Because of these risks, it is important to lose weight even if you do not feel bad now. It is hard to change eating habits and exercise habits. But you can do it if you make a plan.
So here is the plan, and I am going to participate too.
The first step is to attend the FREE weight loss seminar at the Obesity Disease Center tonight at 6 p.m.
We can go see the new office together on Hadley. The Obesity Disease Center is located at 255 W. Hadley #6 in Las Cruces.
I am interested in a safe, effective, and affordable weight loss, and I think it’s important that we go together and listen to this free weight loss seminar. The folks at the Obesity Disease Center will explain everything and you and I can get started on the road to weight loss. .
The seminar is at 6:00 PM Tonight at 255 W. Hadley #6 in Las Cruces.
Join me in the fight to loss weight.

BREAK TIME CHATTER

#1.) If you run a business and want your employees to start working harder . . . without giving them raises, God forbid . . . here's an idea. According to a new survey by Staples, the key to productivity is . . . FREE FOOD. 73% of employees say they're happier when their office has a well-stocked kitchen, and 57% say that would make them more productive.

#2.) In Alabama, a man successfully robbed a bank when he handed the teller a note demanding money, she gave it to him, and he got away. But after he left, he realized he'd left the note behind and was worried they could trace it back to him. So he went BACK to the bank to get it. The police were still at the bank investigating the robbery, and he was arrested.

#3.) It's always good to see criminals get caught like they're cartoon characters. In Atlanta, two guys broke into a middle school to steal computers. When the cops showed up, one guy tried to get away by spraying them with a fire extinguisher. After he sprayed the cops he turned around and . . . ran straight into a wall, knocking himself out. Both men were arrested.

And I leave you with this thought…

"Only when I saw the Earth from space, in all its ineffable beauty and fragility, did I realize that humankind's most urgent task is to cherish and preserve it for future generations."
