Celebrity Spotlight
Zac Brown Band has earned another number one song – this time with “Colder Weather.” The band performed the song during a collaboration with James Taylor at the ACM Awards. Zac has always looked up to James and hoped he’d be everything he’d imagined when he finally got to meet him. “That’s the part that kinda makes you nervous. You meet one of your heroes and they turn out to not be your kind of people. And then it’s kinda like, ‘ehh.’ But he is my kinda people for sure. And he’s a great guy and he’s really smart.” As a thank you for joining the band for a performance, Zac Brown Band gave James an original knife. “We make knives too. And uh, he had a whole like little bag of knives and tools and stuff with him too, which is something that I do. And everybody pretty much thinks I’m crazy in that way. But he had one as well and I knew that we were, uh, kindred.” Thompson Square moves from the top spot to number two with “Are You Gonna Kiss Me,” on the Country Aircheck chart this week. Darius Rucker is number three with “This” followed by Jerrod Niemann’s “What Do You Want,” at number four. Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy” round out the top five

HEALTH MOMENT
After years of controversy and confusion about whether breast cancer survivors should eat soy, scientists have concluded that soy food does not increase the risk of cancer recurrence or death among breast cancer survivors, according to a large study from the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) in Nashville, Tenn.
The study included several research institutions in China and the U.S.
The results indicated it may be beneficial for women to include soy food as part of a healthy diet, even if they have had breast cancer.
The study assessed the diets of 9,515 breast cancer patients, including soy foods like tofu, soy milk, cooked soybeans, miso soup, soybean sprouts and protein shakes with added soy.
Women who ate the most soy food—more than11.83 milligrams of isoflavones per day—had a 27 percent reduced risk for breast cancer recurrence, compared to those with the lowest soy diet.
Results indicate it may be beneficial for women to include soy food as part of a healthy diet, even if they have had breast cancer.
The study was presented at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
If there's a government shutdown on Friday, here are some of the major ways it could affect you. Your tax refund could be delayed . . . police might be forced to do less work on non-violent crimes . . . the National Parks will all close immediately . . . and NASA will have to stop fighting aliens. Or stop planning space missions. Depending on who you believe about what NASA REALLY does.
And I leave you with this thought.
"Friendship makes prosperity more brilliant, and lightens adversity by dividing and sharing it."
