Sara Evans is more than ready for tomorrow’s release of Stronger, her first studio album in six years. The singer found it hard to stay away from the studio for so long. “I felt like I needed to hurry and get this album finished ‘cause it’d been so long. You’re coming from a place of sort of fear, and that’s not ever going to work. And really, you don’t need to worry about when you come out with a new album, just what songs you find. And if the songs are not amazing, then it’s not gonna matter anyway.” The album features Sara’s current single, “A Little Bit Stronger,” which was featured in the film Country Strong. Sara will headline the ACM’s Freemont Street Experience on April 1st in Las Vegas and will also join Rascal Flatts for select dates on their summer tour.

This Is Nuts
Monday, Warner Brothers finally reached their limit and fired Charlie Sheen from "Two And A Half Men." They sent his lawyer an 11-page letter, saying that his client is engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill. They said he was in violation of a clause barring felony offenses involving moral turpitude. Sheen hasn't been convicted of a felony, but WB says he has openly boasted of doing illegal drugs and caused shutdowns of the show due to his erratic behavior. Sheen's lawyer replied that they will sue WB because they have no legal grounds to fire him, since they kept extending his contract even during all his prior arrests and rehabs, so they can't claim he's violated their moral standards now.
* Besides, if they stop paying celebrities just because they're moral degenerates, it will destroy the entire Hollywood system.
HEALTH MOMENT
You see them in every grocery store and home center - those funny-looking curly compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) that are rapidly replacing the old round bulbs. And pretty soon, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 kicks in, requiring bulbs to be 25 to 30 percent more efficient by 2012 to 2014, and 70 percent more efficient by 2020, effectively phasing out traditional incandescent bulbs as a way to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The energy efficiency of CFLs may be significant, but unlike traditional light bulbs, there is a hidden danger sealed inside each little bulb that requires special handling and disposal.
Mercury – a potent, developmental neurotoxin that can damage the brain, liver, kidneys and central nervous system. Infants and young children are particularly vulnerable to mercury’s toxic effects. Even at low levels, mercury is capable of causing a number of health problems including impair motor functioning, cognitive ability and emotional problems. Higher or prolonged exposure can result in much more serious health problems.
CFLs are marketed as “safe” and don’t pose any health risks as long as the glass remains intact. The danger comes if the bulbs are cracked, broken or not disposed of properly. Although it sounds like a miniscule amount – 4 to 5 milligrams – there is enough mercury in just one fluorescent light bulb to contaminate 6,000 gallons of water.
So what does that mean if a CFL is cracked or breaks in our homes, releasing mercury vapors in an enclosed area?
Consumers – especially those with young children –need to know what to do when a CFL breaks and the proper way to dispose of used bulbs. It’s no longer as easy as changing a light bulb.
The EPA suggests the following:
o People and pets should immediately leave the room.
o Open a window and/or door and Air out the room for 5 to 10 minutes.
o Turn off the central forced air heating/air-conditioning system.
o Thoroughly collect broken glass and visible powder using wet cloths. Never use vacuum cleaners or brooms.
o Put all debris and cleanup materials in a sealable container and put outdoors in a trash container or protected area until materials can be disposed of properly. Do not leaving bulb fragments or cleanup materials indoors.
o If practical, continue to air out the room where the bulb was broken and leave the heating/air conditioning system shut off for several hours.

BREAK TIME CHATTER
University of Pennsylvania researchers discovered that to kids, cereal really does taste better if there's a cartoon character on the box. They gave taste tests of generic cereals to 80 children age 4 to 8. The children rated the cereals as tastier when they came out of a box with a character like Shrek, Dora the Explorer or the "Happy Feet" penguins on it. But surprisingly, kids liked the taste better if the box had a name implying it was healthy, like Healthy Bits, rather than sweet, like Sugar Bits. A researcher said they expected it to go the other way.
* If there's a cartoon character on the cereal box, it would probably be healthier to eat the box.
And I leave you with this thought.
"The problems of this world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were."
