Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolia can relate to their latest song “Without You” more than anyone else considering Joshua wrote it. The two are partners on stage and off and an argument early on in their relationship led to this song. “His apologies don’t always sound like apologies and then he’ll play me something like that and I’m like, ‘Oh, he really is sorry.’ (laughs) I wanted to not talk to you for a week and make you really feel bad but then I came home and you played me that.” Joshua admits he’s not the best when it comes to expressing his emotions just by talking so he often finds it easier to say what’s on his mind through a song.
RIDDLE ME THIS
How can a woman in New York, without getting a divorce or becoming a widow, or otherwise legally separated, legally marry 10 men?
She was a clergy woman.

Our Hometown Hero(’s) Today is/are Neil Kaufman
Neil Kaufman saw a pending crisis in the decline of craftsmanship, and the ongoing devaluation of craftsmen and what they create, so he acted, founding the National Center for Craftsmanship.
The NCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and sustainability of quality craftsmanship. The organization was established to preserve and enhance existing craft skills, knowledge and expertise in both modern and historic craftsmanship, from construction and manufacturing to art and handicrafts, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, wood crafts, fiber arts and artisan foods. Working with industry, institutional and government partners, we provide education, training, community service and research to support the retention and extension of craft skills at the local, regional, and national levels.
As a nation, critical shortages of skilled craftspeople have brought us to a point where businesses are unable to meet the needs of their customers due to a lack of qualified workers. As the current pool of craft workers continues to age, the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a valuable source of economic productivity is quickly concentrating in a diminishing percentage of the population. What remains more troubling is that much of this precious resource is being irrevocably lost.
Neil Kaufman is/are our Hometown Hero Today and we salute you.
This Is Nuts
Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell, whose Delaware Senate campaign was derailed by claims that she dabbled in witchcraft in high school, is asking Facebook fans to vote on whether she should accept an invitation to appear on "Dancing With The Stars." She says she's flattered but inclined to say no because her 2-year-old nephew has more rhythm than she does.
* On the other hand, how well could the other stars dance if someone turned them into
frogs?
HEALTH MOMENT
Men who rest computers on their laps for long periods could be risking their fertility, Italian scientists warned Tuesday.
Researchers in the northern city of Padua said laptops could cause overheating in the genitals, damaging the user's ability to produce sperm, the ANSA news agency reported.
Their study found that when a man rested a device on his groin the temperature of his testicles rose by two degrees Celsius (about four degrees Fahrenheit) in one hour.
A one degree Celsius increase was enough to impair the production of sperm. Wearing tight pants, taking a sauna or having a fever can apparently have the same effect.
It's quite usual to see young men holding their laptops on their laps, especially on trains, and we've found that this habit can raise the temperature of the testicles by two degrees in an hour.
Infertility is associated with a rise in temperature, which in both groups was about one degree.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
CareerBuilder.com surveyed nearly 2500 U.S. managers to find the
weirdest excuses employees had given for being late to work. They include: "My car was infested with bees"..."My karma was out of synch"..."I injured myself while removing a fork from the dishwasher"..."I was attacked by my cat"..."I'm on time, but the company clock is wrong"..."There was a problem with the public transportation." That excuse came with a note to verify it, signed, "The Bus Driver"...And "My Botox appointment ran late."
* I can't believe anyone could say that with a straight face.
And I leave you with this thought.
"Care is the ingredient that keeps true friendships alive despite separation, distance, or time. Care gives latitude to another person and gets you past the dislikes and annoyances. Quite simply, caring sustains love."
