DIERKS BENTLEY’S GRAMMY EXPECTATIONS. When it comes to the GRAMMY Awards, Dierks Bentley says he doesn’t just go out there every year because he’s nominated. He says it’s a different experience with the odd mixture of all music genres thrown together in one room for a night. (Cut #2) “But I love to see like Lady Gaga. I want it to be as weird and crazy at it possibly can. I’m not going there for boring. I want to go there and see the whole L.A. crazy scene.” Dierks is nominated for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “Beautiful World” -- a duet with Patty Griffin. Teacher Workshop

This half-day workshop will target middle and high school teachers providing them with resources and tools to help build financial awareness and education in their classrooms. New Mexico high schools must now offer financial literacy as an elective in their curricula. From 2004 to 2006, NM students surveyed had a minimal indication of improvement in the area of financial literacy. The workshop will feature a continental breakfast, box lunches, a keynote speaker and three breakout sessions. There will be no cost for teachers to attend this workshop, however registration is required and space is limited.

HOMETOWN HERO’S are people who serve other people, their community, and take pride in honoring, restoring, preserving, or celebrating an aspect of American hometown life, be it their work, passion, or pastime.
Thus, the truest meaning of “HOMETOWN HERO ” is people protecting, defending, caring for or serving others.
With that as the background, WHO is a “HOMETOWN HERO ” in your life or the life of others ? Some of the greatest “HOMETOWN HERO’S ” in our lives are unknown to the outside world and garner very little, if any, attention.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Is Our Hometown Hero Today
Based on national and local trends, as well as the reputation of Las Cruces as a retirement destination for older Americans, the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Housing Study Committee was formed to identify and address the needs of grandparents raising grandchildren in the City of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. Through their work in the community, committee members were acutely aware
of the many challenges that grandparents face when raising grandchildren and were interested in learning about and developing programs to support grandparents in their caregiver roles.
Grandparents raising grandchildren serve a critical and under-recognized role in the Doña Ana County community by providing stable, loving, and supportive environments for children in need. More than half of the grandparents surveyed have been caring for their grandchildren for five or more years, and 84% of them said they have never lost responsibility for the child during that time, reflecting a stable and strong commitment to their caregiver role. They play an important and valuable role in the community by taking in children that might otherwise be abandoned or left to the custody of state and local child service programs. Nonetheless, grandparents raising grandchildren in Doña Ana County face significant challenges and experience a range of social and housing service needs that must be addressed to support their critical role in the community.

Tuesday, the Senate voted to reject President Obama's plan for a bipartisan panel to suggest ways to cut the deficit, since Democrats think the panel would demand spending cuts and Republicans fear it would call for tax increases.
* And how will we ever cut the deficit if we do either of those things?!
HEALTH MOMENT
The main cause of toothache is tooth decay, which results from a faulty diet. Perhaps the greatest curse and cause of tooth decay is the consumption of candy, soft drinks, pastries, refined carbohydrates and sugar in all forms. Bacteria in the mouth breaks sugar down into acids, which combine with the calcium in the enamel to cause decay or erosion.
Among the most effective home remedies for toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will make the cure teeth making it strong and healthy.
Toothache relief using Onion
Latest research has confirmed the bactericidal properties of onion. If a person consumes one raw onion every day by thorough mastication, he will be protected from host of tooth disorders. Chewing raw onion for three minutes is sufficient to kill all the germs in the mouth. Toothache is often allayed by placing a small piece of onion on the bad tooth or gum.
Remedies for Tooth ache using Lime
Lime, as a rich source of vitamin C, is useful in maintaining the health of the teeth and other bones of the body. It prevents decay and loosening of the teeth, dental caries, toothache, and bleeding of the gums
Toothache cure using Wheat Grass
The juice of wheat grass acts as an excellent mouthwash for tooth decay and cures toothaches. Wheat grass can be chewed with beneficial results. It draws out toxins from the gums and thus checks bacterial growth.
Toothache home remedy using Clove
Another home remedy for toothache is in the use of clove, which reduces pain. It also helps decrease infection due to its antiseptic properties. Clove oil, applied to a cavity in a decayed tooth, also relieves toothache.
Remedies for Toothache using Pepper
A mixture of a pinch of pepper powder and a quarter teaspoon of common salt is an excellent dentrifice. Its daily use prevents dental cavities, foul breath, bleeding from the gums, painful gums, and toothaches. It cures the increased sensitiveness of the teeth. A pinch of pepper powder mixed with clove oil can be put on the cavities to alleviate the toothache.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
A study by Spain's University of Basque Country found that men feel less guilt than women. 156 teenagers, 96 young people and 108 adults were all given "interpersonal sensitivity tests," to see what situations might make them feel guilty about how they'd caused another person pain, and how much guilt they felt. In all age groups, female guilt feelings were "significantly higher" and more intense among females than males. The researchers say this lack of empathy might actually undermine men's relationships, and it's not that women feel too much guilt but that many men feel too little.
* If they're trying to make men feel guilty about not feeling guilty enough, it won't work.
