HOMETOWN HERO’S
HOMETOWN HERO’S are people who serve other people, their community, and take pride in honoring, restoring, preserving, or celebrating an aspect of American hometown life, be it their work, passion, or pastime.
Thus, the truest meaning of “HOMETOWN HERO ” is people protecting, defending, caring for or serving others.
With that as the background, WHO is a “HOMETOWN HERO ” in your life or the life of others ? Some of the greatest “HOMETOWN HERO’S ” in our lives are unknown to the outside world and garner very little, if any, attention.

This Is Nuts
The election to replace the late Ted Kennedy in the Senate is today in Massachusetts, and in a shocking upset, polls show pickup truck-driving Republican Scott Brown has surged ahead of Kennedy-anointed Democrat Martha Coakley. A Brown win would end the Democrats' filibuster-proof majority and he vows to force them to stop taxing and spending and to rewrite the health care bill from scratch. Ironically, this massive shift in the direction of the government could hinge partly on a dumb baseball mistake. Coakley dismissed Curt Schilling, who was campaigning with Brown, as a "Yankees fan." Schilling is the Boston Red Sox pitcher who won their first World Series since 1918.
* Calling Curt Schilling a Yankees fan is like calling Conan O'Brien a Jay Leno fan.
HEALTH MOMENT
Hemorrhoids, is a condition of inflammation and swelling of the veins that are located in the anus and lower rectum. This condition develops due to pressure exerted on the veins most often from straining to evacuate the bowels or also due to other conditions like pregnancy or obesity. The condition can be very painful or at times devoid of most symptoms. It can pose risk of certain complications or be a warning sign of other disorders.
Here are some home remedies that can help treat hemorrhoids.
1. Pomegranate peels can be used to prepare a hemorrhoids remedy, by simply boiling the peels in water. The water must then be drunk, and this practice should be done twice a day.
2. One remedy that is widely regarded is the consumption of figs that are soaked overnight in water.
3. Buttermilk can also be used to prepare another effective remedy. Just add some peppercorns, rock salt, and ginger. Drink this at least twice a day for some quick relief.
4. Another remedy involves crushing black mustard and mixing it thoroughly with a bowl of yogurt. Consume this mixture, but make it a point to chew the mustard thoroughly and wash it down with a glass of buttermilk once done.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
Friday in San Diego, an especially smart 11-year-old at the tech-oriented Millennial Tech Magnet Middle School brought his project to the science fair. It was a motion detector made from wires, electronics and a Gatorade bottle. But a vice principal mistook it for a bomb, panicked and called the police. The school was evacuated while an arson team X-rayed it and pronounced it harmless. The vice principal is now insisting that the student get counseling to head off his dangerous, anti-social tendencies, that the vice-principal caused by falsely accusing him of being a bomber.
* Actually, he should get an A for scientifically proving that his school is run by morons.
And I leave you with this thought.
"We will be known forever by the tracks we leave."
