REBA MCENTIRE STARTS NEW YEAR WITH NUMBER ONE. Reba McEntire is the first artist to claim the number one song on the Country Aircheck Chart in 2010 with “Consider Me Gone.” It’s one of the songs she performed during her CMT Invitation Only which turned out to be a fun night for Reba to share with her fans. (Cut #1) “It is a great concept. You ask the audience questions, well they ask you questions. And then you sing some songs and we did some songs off the new album and we did some songs of the older albums. I had a blast.” Dierks Bentley starts off the new year at number two with “I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes,” followed by Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice.” Lady Antebellum sits at number four with “Need You Now,” while Luke Bryan rounds out the top five with “Do I.”

HOMETOWN HERO’S are people who serve other people, their community, and take pride in honoring, restoring, preserving, or celebrating an aspect of American hometown life, be it their work, passion, or pastime.
Thus, the truest meaning of “HOMETOWN HERO ” is people protecting, defending, caring for or serving others.
With that as the background, WHO is a “HOMETOWN HERO ” in your life or the life of others ? Some of the greatest “HOMETOWN HERO’S ” in our lives are unknown to the outside world and garner very little, if any, attention.

Breitbart.com put media pressure on the White House Wednesday by posting a video showing candidate Obama promising on camera, eight separate times, to air all Congressional health reform negotiations on C-SPAN. When pressed for a response, Speaker Nancy Pelosi laughed and said, there are a number of things he was for on the campaign trail.

HEALTH MOMENT
The air passages of the lungs are lined with cells secreting mucus, which normally traps particles of dust. When the membranes get infected and inflamed, the secretion of mucus increases and the lining of the air passages is irritated. Coughing is the action by which excess mucus is driven out.
Cough treatment using Grapes
Grapes are one of the most effective home remedies for the treatment of a cough. Grapes tone up the lungs and act as an expectorant, relieving a simple cold and cough in a couple of days. A cup of grape juice mixed with a teaspoon of honey is advised for cough relief.
Cough treatment using Almonds
Almonds are useful for dry coughs. Seven kernels should be soaked in water overnight and the brown skin removed. They should then be ground well to form a fine paste. A quantity of twenty grams each of butter and sugar should then be added to the paste. This paste should be taken in the morning and evening.
Cough treatment using Onion
The use of raw onion is valuable in a cough. This vegetable should be chopped fine and the juice extracted from it. One teaspoon of the juice should then be mixed with one teaspoon of honey and kept for four or five hours-it will make an excellent cough syrup and should be taken twice daily.
Cough treatment using Raisins
A sauce prepared from raisins is also useful in a cough. This sauce is prepared by grinding 100 gm of raisins with water. About 100 gm of sugar should be mixed with it and the mixture heated. When the mixture acquires a sauce-like consistency, it should be preserved. Twenty grams should be taken at bedtime daily.
BREAK TIME CHATTER
NBA Commissioner David Stern has suspended Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas indefinitely pending an investigation for bringing guns into the locker room and pulling one on a teammate last month. It could cost Arenas his $96 million contract. Stern said Arenas "is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game."
* Maybe he just thought the team was still named the Washington Bullets.
